In the 1950s, the comedy duo of Lanny Morris (Kevin Bacon) and Vince Collins (Colin Firth) are at the height of their popularity. Their performance at America's night clubs is a stunning success; they have hordes of fervent devotees, money, and fame. Their patron looks after the golden boys so that they can have anything they care to ask for. Their round-the-clock telethon continues until a mysterious incident leads to the break-up of their partnership. Fifteen years later, young journalist Karen O'Connor (Alison Lohman) decides to lift the veil of mystery and get to know the whole truth from Morris and Collins' own lips. It is 1948 in LA and Ezikeal "Easy" Rawlins, an African-American World War II veteran, is looking for work. At his friend's bar, he is introduced to a white man, DeWitt Albright, who is looking for someone to help him find a missing white woman assumed to be hiding somewhere in LA's Black community. This woman, Daphane Monet, happens to be the fiancée of a wealthy "blue blood," Todd Carter, who is currently the favorite in the city's mayoralty race. Daphane Monet is known to frequent the Black jazz clubs in LA. Easy, innocently, accepts Albright's offer; however, he quickly finds himself amidst murder, crooked cops, ruthless politicians, and brutalizing hoodlums. This is a Chandler-esque "who-done-it" with an African-American theme. |

During a sanitarium transfer, Michael Myers murders his hospital escorts and brutally murders the staff of a gas station. Dr Loomis hears of the incident, and he is confident that Myers is planning to return to Haddonfield to kill his niece. He confronts Michael in the empty gas station, but he escapes. When Loomis finally arrives in Haddonfield, the sun is down and the children have begun trick or treating. He warns the police, and they, in turn, order the entire town into a state of curfew as they hunt for Myers. A group of rednecks leaded by a man named "Earl" attempt to capture Myers for themselves. As this happens, the entire town of Haddonfield falls into a state of darkness as a blackout occurs. Can they wit stand the devil in human form? |

Dutton's feature-length directorial debut stars Meg Ryan as boxing promoter Jackie Kallen, a Jewish woman from Detroit who broke through and found success in the world of boxing attempting to make her mark in this male-dominated sport. She works her way up in the world of boxing by believing in the fighting skills of Luther Shaw (Omar Epps) a light-heavyweight contender from the inner-city. The drama focuses on Jackie's relationship with him in attempt to lead him to the summit. Likewise, Kallen's life and career came into focus due to Shaw and his influence on her growth. |

After Jeff's mother died, he started acting up. His father not knowing what to do with him consults his friend, Kim. Kim suggests that Jeff join a Kenpo school, and Jeff seems to have all of his negative energy under control but when he seriously injures someone, Jeff's father throws him out. Years later, Jeff still stays in touch with Kim and when he calls him he gets the impression that Kim is in trouble. Jeff rushes to help him but too late. Jeff's relationship with his father is still strained. When a Korean gives him info on who is responsible, so he goes out like a bat out of hell but he is told that he is being used. And sets out to find the real killer. |
